Tsunami Blue Gayle Ann Williams 9780505528216 Books

This is story telling at the finest. The author has a great sense of story, balance, action and romance.

SYNOPSIS:
Earth has been destroyed by tidal waves or `tsunamis'. Billions are dead, most of civilization is under water. Governments have failed en masse, and pirates rule the seas, islands, and coastal towns.

"Blue" lives alone with her dog on an island. She can accurately predict tsunamis by supernatural means, and warns people over shortwave radio. She saves thousands, but grieves and is weighted down by guilt for the ones she didn't save.

One night, a beautiful man is washed ashore dying from hypothermia. Blue saves him, then regrets it because she discovers Gabriel is a `runner' or pirate. The pirates want to capture Blue, because he who predicts tsunamis, rules the world. Gabriel forces Blue to leave her isolation on the island and flee for their lives from the pirate/runner fleet.

PROS:
The Story!!! It was fun and exciting and suspenseful. I actually got up early on a Saturday to read it. A Saturday. My only day to sleep in. Just so you understand how enjoyable it is.

The paranormal aspect was handled elegantly. It was merely a backdrop for the story.

I loved the twists and turns. Not knowing if Gabriel is a good guy falling in love with Blue or an evil runner who is a master at manipulating a lonely young woman's emotions. The novel leaves you guessing up to the very end.

CONS:
The only significant thing I noticed was the pace of the narrative was a bit disjointed and jumpy at the cage scene. I wasn't quite sure who was where during that scene.

OPINION:
Couldn't put it down, so it gets 5 stars.

Tsunami Blue Gayle Ann Williams 9780505528216 Books Reviews

I first heard of this book because of a review on Bitten By Books. So glad I gave it a try! This book is set in a future where tsunamis have reduced the world to a chain of islands, pirates known as runners terrorize the survivors, and starbucks coffee is worth more than gold. One girl with startling blue eyes and a distinctive wave tattoo covering her arm has the ability to talk with the sea and predict when and where the waves will hit. But because of her talent she's one of the most hunted people on Earth. And then one day she finds a drop-dead gorgeous runner washed up on her beach... hmmm, save him or kill him?

This book was such an enjoyable read. I found the heroine completely delightful and loved her humorous internal dialogue. First-person perspective can either be really good, or really really bad. In this book it totally works. I found Blue to be believable, likeable, and I appreciated that she was a tough girl who was still able to cry. So many heroines lately are all sass and violence with no femininity left. If you want a non-stop page turner with an engaging plot, really electric H/h tension, and a fresh new world (yes, very similar to Water World but better), then try this book out. It's a fast read that gave me a nice little break from reality~ and Gabriel is HOT! Can't wait for more from this author!
I bought the paperback in 2010. From the moment you start reading its a thriller. I could not put it down. When I bought my kindle I was upset to find that it was not in the kindle list. I had to request it to be added from the author. As soon as I could I added it to my kindle. It really is odd to think that something like that could possibly happen one day with the way tsunami's are as big as they are. It also has some surprising twists you would not expect. The book was a great read.
Tsunami Blue is an adventurous, sexy, fun read that packs a punch! Loved the main character. The setting is cool and unique. And the chemistry between Blue and Gabriel is smokin' hot! Fast-paced and rife with tension (both plot and sexual) yet not overly explicit--the perfect mix.

Thanks for the great read, Gayle!

Normally I am not all about any apocolypic type tale...yet from page one..this one..Tsunami Blue by the fabolous Gayle Ann Williams captures my imagination and doesn't let go. I actually felt like I was right there...the imagery is beautifully written...the action sequences are fantastic....I am not going into the plot line...others have done it beautifully...but I will say...get this book...and then fall in love with Tsunami Blue...I did. Kudos to the author for a great book!
The year? 2023 the location? What remains of Earth and the Pacific NW after huge Tsunamis ravage the earth and her inhabitants.
This is a well written story that keeps you riveted to the story wanting to know more.... There is Danger excitement unexpected twists and turns and love. I had a hard time putting this book down when it was time for me to go back to work after my lunch... my 30 min lunch seemed to speed by. This book is suitable for YA as well as Adults
I do not feel the need to re-cap since so many others have already done that, so, I will just say a few things about how I felt about this story. First, I want to point out that one reviewer pretty much nailed it on the head...... If you are not expecting a 5 star story, then you will sit back and just enjoy! Honestly, I actually had a fun time reading this story. Blue's thought process had me laughing a lot, which makes me happy! If you go in expecting a bunch of realistic reasons for why things are happening how they are...... you are not going to enjoy the book, on the other hand if you go in just expecting to have a somewhat fun read, YOU WILL REALLY ENJOY IT. There are things that I felt could have been explained a little more, for example, the hero and his gift, but it did not take away completely from the book. I want to add that I got the kindle/FREE deal, but if I had purchased it, it would not have made me feel cheated in anyway! It's a FUN read with lot's of ACTION.... a good escape the day read! HAPPY READING EVERYONE......
